PEOPLE TREE x ORLA KIELY

Considering how well the two play off each other, it’s surprising that this is Kiely’s first collection for the fair-trade pioneer. ” I think what People Tree is doing is amazing,” Kiely told Safia Minney, People Tree’s founder and CEO, in April. “Within the fashion industry, it is important to know our products come from a sustainable and socially responsible source. What People Tree is doing has clearly highlighted this issue and leading the way for all designers to be responsible for where and how their products are made.”

And while this is Kiely’s first foray into sustainable fashion, she says she tries to be ethically responsible in her personal and professional lives.

And while this is Kiely’s first foray into sustainable fashion—officially, anyway—she says she tries to be ethically responsible in her personal and professional lives. “I walk to work everyday with my labradoodle Olive, which is a great form of exercise, too!” she told Minney. “I try not to fly far and mainly holiday in Ireland crossing over on a ferry. In everyday life. I try to use locally sourced products with reduced packaging. Within my work, I endeavor to offer my products with reusable packaging. All our bed linen comes in a beautiful printed box which can be used again and again.”
