Saddle up your bicycles, boys and girls, because it’s time for another round of “The Great Fashion Cycle,” an annual charity ride from London to Paris to raise awareness and funds for the Environmental Justice Foundation’s “Pick Your Cotton Carefully” campaign. Now in its fourth year, the event will include two dates over the summer: July 11-15 and September 5-9. Participants will embark on a 300-mile adventure between the two fashion capitals, zipping through the picturesque Kent and Dover countrysides, crossing the English Channel to Calais, and pedaling past medieval market towns on the outskirts of Paris before finishing at the Eiffel Tower.

To secure a place, simply pay the tour organizers a nonrefundable entry fee of £99 ($155). Once registered, you can begin raising the minimum sponsorship sum of £1,400 ($2,100) in earnest, which includes the cost of food, accommodation, transportation (ferry to France and a Eurostar train back), and a support team of mechanics and medics. Any leftover funds will funnel back to support the nonprofit’s work to end the use of forced child labor and deadly pesticides in cotton-producing countries such as Uzbekistan.

Funds raised will support the Environmental Justice Foundation’s work to end the use of forced child labor in the cotton industry.

Plus, Great Fashion Cycle rider will receive a free fair-trade and organic outfit courtesy of Pants to Poverty and Monkee Genes. “EJF welcomes individuals or teams to join in the fun on this sponsored ride and make new friends during this once in a lifetime experience!” says Katharine Ross, corporate and events coordinator at the Environmental Justice Foundation. “With your pedal power we can change the face of fashion for the better.”

We can’t think of a better way to burn calories.
