You can take the boy out from the South, but you can't take the South out of the boy, especially if the laddie in question is Franklin, Tennessee-born-and-bred designer Jeff Garner of Prophetik. Returning to Vauxhall Fashion Scout on Friday for the opening of London Fashion Week, Garner unleashed a cavalcade of antebellum silhouettes and quixotic overtures that have become his calling card. His muse? Botticelli's Venus, the original blonde bombshell. The result was a surprising mashup of the titans in the vein of The Rebirth of Scarlett O'Hara in Ancient Rome. But it worked.

MIDNIGHT GARDEN
At the opening of London Fashion Week at Vauxhall Talent Scout, Tennessee’s own Prophetik spirited its audience to another place, another era. Its Spring/Summer 2011 collection, “Midnight Garden,” accompanied by a live bluegrass band, was awash in the epic, romantic silhouettes and sweeping forms that have become designer Jeff Garner’s hallmark. The palette was equally dreamy, with a hand- and dip-dyed assortment of botanically derived coral, cerulean, and copper. But don’t take our word for it; check out the video below to see for yourself.
