STARRY NIGHTS

To bring the rich imagery she witnessed to life, Pleet worked with an embroiderer in New York City, where her garments are made. The result? A constellation of stars winks in and out of a pair of shorts, the moon waxes and wanes on the neckline of a dress, and twin crescents illuminate the lapels of a blazer.

Pleet’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection was inspired by mythology, astronomy, armor, and a recent jaunt to Iceland.

The fabrics Pleet used are no less divine: washed silks, organic boiled wools, English heritage tweeds, and organic cottons. “The clothes bring a sense of enchantment to everyday life, from work to a party,” she says, “or while exploring dramatic landscapes and telling tales by the fire.”
