Shwood stepped out at Lincoln Center on Friday with a Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week debut of its own. The Portland-based eyewear company conspired with the luxury automaker (and longtime event sponsor) to create 10 pairs of sunglasses using dashboard wood from the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Crafted in Oregon, the Shwood for Mercedes-Benz collection features four varieties of lumber (black poplar, burl walnut, metallized ash, and brown myrtle) and a high-gloss hand-finish. Exclusivity doesn’t come cheap, however. Each individually numbered piece rings in at a retina-watering $595.
