Teens Turning Green, a Bay Area-based, nationally grounded organization mobilizing students to sustain the earth, will launch “GreenStyled” as part of its ethical-fashion platform. GreenStyled, in collaboration with eBay Green, is a contest for college students (18+over) to design the most fashion-forward head-to-toe eco-look imaginable with items found on green.ebay.com. The winner will receive a $1,000 gift card to spend on eBay Green.
What: Curate and upload your looks starting on April 1. Contest ends at midnight PT on Earth Day—April 22, 2012. Submissions will be juried and the winner will be determined by an esteemed panel of judges and announced on April 30.
How: Register at www.teensturninggreen.org. Join the Green Team at green.ebay.com. Choose from preowned, new, and sustainably made items to curate an “eco-shopping list.” You must choose at least three items for your list, comment on why you like each piece, explain makes it a greener choice, and include #greenstyle in the name of your list.
Why: To experience how fun, easy, accessible, and “eco”-nomical the transition from a conventional to a conscious wardrobe can be.
