COMPLETELY WOOED

Made in Gotham’s fabled Garment District, the range spans from casual to evening-wear, with such planet-pandering materials as organic cotton dobby, cellulose-derived Tencel and Enka viscose, silk crepe de chine, vegetable-tanned leather, and both felted and knit organic merino wool—all sustainably produced and bathed in low-impact, formaldehyde-free dyes. “The greatest aspect of all these fabrics is that you would never guess they were eco-friendly,” Woo says.

Although earth tones—green, camel, gray—abound in the collection, Woo added searing pops of ruby and magenta, because “it’s a surprise to see in the colder months,” she says. And you can’t say that the designer doesn’t tap into every available resource. “When it got to crunch time and finishing samples, I enlisted my boyfriend to cut patterns,” she reveals. “He wanted to help and I taught him, and it turns out he’s really good at it!”
