Adidas gave Salon Internazionale de Mobile attendees a sneak peek at its “unprecedented collaboration” with London designer Tom Dixon on Tuesday when it unveiled a capsule of travel essentials at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. Designed to serve as a “complete wardrobe for every possible occasion” during a week-long stay in Italy, the collection features an array of utilitarian yet adaptive garments, including a padded parka that transforms into a sleeping bag, “ultralite” hoodies that zip down into small pouches for extra mobility, and a modular five-in-one overall design that converts into a coat, jacket, pant, skirt, or short.

Even the accessories in the “Adidas by Tom Dixon” range are expert multitaskers. Duffle bags easily turn into suitcases, while garment bags conveniently double as backpacks. Both hard and soft luggage options unzip, unfold, and unclasp to reveal different layers, complete with efficiently packed (and detachable) compartments.

“Our teaming up with Adidas is an opportunity for grand exploration, a chance to combine the expertise of the sports world with British design and innovation,” Dixon wrote on his website. “We’re excited to be bringing together the sportswear and design worlds.”

The Adidas by Tom Dixon collection will be available in stores worldwide from mid-November.
