Ecouterre presents an exclusive look at Designing Change, a short film that charts the evolution of Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress ethical-fashion initiative from its inception during Avatar’s awards-circuit victory lap in 2010 to its latest iteration at last month’s Oscars, where Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner and supermodel-entrepreneur Lily Cole served as ambassadors. Directed by Brandon Hickman, and produced by Amis Cameron, Hickman, and Samata Pattinson, the video highlights the vast amount of behind-the-scenes elbow grease it takes to give sustainable style a red-carpet-ready sheen.
“Caring for the environment informs every facet of my life, from what I feed my family to what I wear every day. That’s why the Red Carpet Green Dress campaign is so personal: it’s a mission to put sustainable fashion on the red carpet and shine a light on the devastating impact of the fashion industry on people and the planet,” Amis Cameron told Ecouterre. “In Designing Change, we share highlights from the last seven years—both the struggles and gorgeous outcomes and dresses—including the designers, students, and actresses who we’ve had the honor of working with along the way. I’m so proud to be a part of the elegant and meaningful collaboration that is Red Carpet Green Dress.”
Prizes include an internship at Westwood’s atelier, plus an in-person introduction to Amis Cameron herself. Nice work if you can get it.
