The <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Brooklyn-Barge-Bar/671580692950842?sk=timeline&ref=page_internal">Brooklyn Barge Bar</a>, a new <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/floating-beer-garden-on-repurposed-ferry-coming-to-long-island-city-queens/">floating bar</a> and restaurant planned for the north Brooklyn neighborhood, is set to float onto the scene as early as this May. The outdoor eatery, to be located right next to <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/transmitter-park-finally-opens-in-greenpoint-brooklyn-with-waterfront-views-of-the-the-manhattan-skyline/">Transmitter Park </a>on the East River, will serve up food and drinks with a side of killer views of the Manhattan skyline.1
- Brooklyn Barge Bar RenderingThe barge, which will be docked and immobile, unlike Greenpoint's <a href="http://thewatertablenyc.com/">Water Table boat restaurant</a>, will be able to accommodate about 100 people and serve up eats like hamburgers, sandwiches and fries ranging from $4-$22.2
- Brooklyn Transmitter Park"A lot of people don't necessarily think, 'Let's go out to the Greenpoint waterfront,'" he said. "We want to change that perception. It's got some of the nicest views in the city."3
- Brooklyn Barge BarDrawbridge also spoke of plans to use the space for community events like a farmers market, yoga and fitness classes, and art exhibitions.4
- Brooklyn Barge Bar Next to Transmitter ParkIf all goes as planned, the Brooklyn Barge Bar will be open from 11AM to 2AM daily between May 1 and Oct. 31.5
