Foster + Partners wins bid to design the nature-filled Guangming Hub

Foster + Partners has designed a transit hub for Shenzhen, China.

The competition-winning design is located on the high-speed rail link connecting Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

The Guangming Hub will serve as a “forest gateway” into Shenzhen.

The hub connects to multiple smart, autonomous transit options, including an existing high-speed rail.

The heart of the project is a pedestrian-friendly town center filled with plants.

Office towers will be intentionally placed throughout the site to mark important entryways to the hub.

Guangming Hub implements sustainable strategies such as permeable paving and bio-retention landscaping elements.
