Things just got a little easier for bookworms looking to get lost in their favorite literature. Monterrey Mexico's cultural commission, Conarte hired Mexican design firm, Anagrama and project developer Artiplano to create an engaging reading space for visiting book worms. The result is an amazing geometric book-lined pod with gradient seating to perfectly cocoon readers from any distractions while they cozy up to their favorite book.
The dramatic arching membrane hovers over the curved book shelves, artfully and respectfully displaying the books on sale. Gradient steps lead people up and down the wooden shelves and double as comfy seating along the way.
According to Roberto Treviño, partner and architectural director at Anagrama, the design is meant to provide a personal reading space free from distractions. “The idea was to evoke the feeling of detachment with the external world. It’s just you, the books, and this fantastic space. It really creates an amazing reading experience.”
