Golany Architects’ rustic treehouse is an incredible construction built among mature Jerusalem pine trees. When first checking out the site, the architects found that two of the trees had grown in the exact place where the house was to be located. But instead of cutting them down, they decided to integrate the two trees into the home. The pines not only lend to the aesthetic of the construction, but they also serve as a natural source of air-conditioning and shade the timber from the harsh sun. The house was constructed using a recycled shipping container, and prefab elements were applied wherever possible.
