Green Studios' beautiful rooftop gardens stand out wherever they're installed, however, their latest work has turned a drab, concrete Beirut rooftop into an abundant oasis. Located atop the Central Bank of Beirut, the massive 812 square meter rooftop garden - the largest in Lebanon - uses a company-created and patented flexible hydroponic skin system to ensure its gardens thrive in extreme climates.
The hydroponic skin system relies on sensors connected to a remote control in order to provide optimal growing conditions for plant growth. The patented system ensures that the plants will continue to grow for up to three days in case of limited rainfall or irrigation.
Green Studios’ methods for installing and protecting the lush rooftop gardens are designed to bring green space to urban areas where grey concrete seems to grow by the hour, as is the case with war-torn Beirut. Like similar cities, green spots in the Lebanese capital have been severely suffocated by uncontrolled urban development, causing innumerable health concerns for the city.
By creating healthful, green rooftop oases, companies such as Green Studios are not only providing beautiful, serene areas for smog-filled, concrete jungles like Beirut, but also providing endless food-producing possibilities as well.
