IKEA Unveils PS 2014 Collection Filled with Space-Saving Furniture and Double-Duty Designs (PHOTOS)

The world has been asking for more space-saving, <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/8-super-useful-transforming-furniture-pieces-spotted-at-psfks-future-of-home-living-exhibit/psfk-home-of-the-future-tra/?extend=1">double-duty</a> furniture and it looks like <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/tag/ikea/">IKEA</a> has been all ears. The <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/">Swedish home furnishings company</a> unveiled its new PS 2014 collection to the press last week in New York, and it's filled with affordable, <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/10-transforming-furniture-designs-perfect-for-tiny-nyc-apartments/transforming-furniture-desi/?extend=1">multi-functional</a> pieces designed specifically for on-the-go urbanites living in smaller spaces. In order to incorporate the most forward-thinking ideas into the new line, IKEA reached out to 14 young designers from all around the world to come up with designs for the collection. The exercise resulted in a wide range of creative solutions, from a cabinet that fits perfectly into hard-to-utilize corners to a standing storage solution that requires no drilling into walls to a hall console that folds out to become a desk.
