- Shipping Container Tim FestivalMusic festivals are one of the reasons many of us look forward to the warmer weather, but with hordes of revelers, numerous vendors dispensing beverage after beverage and a whole mini city that needs to be erected and torn down in a matter of days, they can generate just as much waste as they do festivity. So when Bernardes Jacobsen was tasked with designing a more sustainable event space for the Tim Festival, which takes place yearly in Marina da Glória, Rio de Janeiro, they decided to use shipping containers as their medium. Stacking up the colorful containers as a staggered wall, they were able to create an event space with bold pops of visual interest without having to build a slew of structures from new materials.1

In addition to creating these additional spaces without the need for additional trussing like they typically, the containers acted as a lively spectacle to get festival goers approaching the concert amped for the shows.6
