Who knows what strange and fantastic creatures live in the minds of creative children? Designers Sebastiano Ercoli and Alessandro Garlandini have a couple of ideas, and aim to bring them forth with their project, 99 Beasts. Each modular toy is made from laminated birch joinery scraps. The kits are sold in two versions and include three animals each. Between a lion, rhinoceros, eagle, snake, marlin, and squid, kids can take apart the segmented critters and recombine them to make imaginary monsters. Produced by Aquapotabile, the sets are sold at their retail stores or online at buru-buru.com for about $47.
