Eco Kids Planet is a new print and digital magazine for kids aged 7-11. This monthly publication seeks to provide young adventurers with interactive, exciting, and educational content, encouraging respect for the eco systems that keep the earth healthy. “As a mum of 2 young children, I could not find a suitable magazine for my 7 year-old daughter,” said project creator Anya Dimelow. “ I wanted her to have a magazine that would grab her imagination with interesting facts, stunning photographs and illustrations and would engage her with fun activities.” With a publisher on the team and consultants in both education and ecology, Eco Kids Planet is on board to create engaging, educational, and fun magazines. Each publication will seek to raise interests in nature’s wonders and beauty as well as its vulnerabilities and importance. Eco Kids Planet will build kids’ knowledge about the eco-regions that are crucial to the health of the planet. “I want my children and their friends to be aware of how complicated, extraordinary, and dangerous our relationship with nature is,” said Dimelow, “I want them to open their eyes not only to nature’s wonders and infinite beauty but also to its vulnerability and limits.” Eco Kids Planet supports and extends on basic educational curriculum, with an emphasis in science, geography, and literacy. Each issue will be a full-color 24-page monthly magazine, beautifully designed and containing thoroughly researched content. “It’s a book to keep rather than a magazine to throw away,” said Dimelow. “We need publications that encourage and support young people in building the knowledge, skills and values to safeguard our beautiful planet.”
