Crayons are among a tot's favorite tools to create art -- and we've seen plenty of fantastic variations from crayon rings to crayon rocks. But in a true stroke of genius, artist Pete Goldlust has carved the colorful sticks of wax into pristine masterpieces unto themselves. These vibrant sculptures, which can be held in the palm of your hand, are a perfect example that the medium may be as important, and revered as the method.
Goldlust’s miniature sculptures take creativity to a new level, turning these cherished colorful sticks into true works of art we almost would be afraid to touch. Inspired by Goldlust’s fascination of human nature, action and psychology, his intricate sculptures are representations of an ever-changing process of being and understanding. Admittedly some heavy stuff for the average Crayola, but on a lighter note, Goldlust relays that “a sense of play is key” to his creative strategy.
An inspiration to kids and adults alike – color us impressed!
