We can’t reiterate to our children enough (especially when handed holiday wish lists with requests in the double digits) that the spirit of the holidays is truly about giving, and the entire Carlson clan seems to have embodied this ideal. The Omaha family started making and selling holiday ornaments in 2009 as a family service project, and they have since donated 100% of their proceeds (totaling more than $18,000!) to charity. The two brothers, with the help of their parents, make unique and creative ornaments from LEGO® pieces, including this cute reindeer ornament. A sweet gift for the LEGO® lovers in your family, the ornaments are also available as a build-it kit for a hands-on activity. In keeping with their family giving tradition, the Carlson family will use proceeds from the 2014 ornament sales to purchase basic necessities for children living in homeless or domestic violence shelters and will also be filling 100 shoeboxes to be delivered by Operation Christmas Child to boys and girls all over the world. We think our heart just grew three sizes thinking about this lovely family project!
