These chocolate covered fruit lollies are perfect for any time of the year. They are quick and easy to make and the whole process is fun, so your kids will love helping you out -- especially with the dipping.
Enjoy these vegan, gluten-free lollies as a dessert or as a mid- afternoon snack and add any topping you want. We chose to dip each piece of fruit into colorful sprinkles, right after the sumptuous vegan dark chocolate. But you could roll them in chopped nuts, coconut or spices, to give a fun delicious edge to your favorite seasonal fruits. These lollies would also make sweet and delicious Valentine treats!
1. Gather the ingredients
- 1 kiwi
- 1 banana
- a bunch of strawberries
- a bunch of cherries
- 1 cup of dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup of sprinkles
- 1 pack of lollipop sticks
2. Freeze the fruits
Wash the fruits, peel the kiwi, cut the banana and kiwi into slices and insert a lollipop stick halfway (or more) into a piece of fruit. Place on a tray leaving spaces between them and freeze overnight.
3. Dip the fruits into the chocolate
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Turn the heat down to low and keep the double boiler going until the chocolate melts. Take the fruits out of the freezer and dip the ends in the chocolate, shake to remove any excess chocolate.
4. Dip the fruits into the sprinkles
Immediately after dipping each piece of fruit in the chocolate, roll into the sprinkles.
5. Leave the lollies to set
As the chocolate will set pretty fast, you need to work quickly. Once you have made each stick, place them in a container, separately.
You can eat them straight away or freeze them again to enjoy later.
