The designers behind Jyrobike want to streamline your kids’ bicycle riding efforts with a new auto-balancing bike. Using gyroscope technology, the bike’s front wheel stays upright, ensuring a smooth ride even for beginners. Jyroscope will give kids the confidence that comes with teaching themselves to ride a bike, as well as hopefully preventing a few bruises and scrapes along the way.
Learning to ride a bicycle is one of the most rewarding, and confidence boosting accomplishments in childhood. Even armed with a helmet and knee pads, the days spent teaching your child to ride a bike are happy, but also coupled with kissing a lot of boo-boos. Wouldn’t it be great to see your little one succeed, without the impending scrapes and bruises that come from falling during the learning process?
The high tech little bikes use the same technology that keeps a helicopter upright in flight to create a smooth, and vertical ride. With the self-righting front wheel, Jyrobike claims it can even cut down on the time it takes to learn to ride a bike — enabling your tot to be up and running on two wheels in just one afternoon! Although you’ll be saving money on Band-Aids, the Jyrobike may be pricey, as the front wheel alone will cost around $100.
Jyrobike’s Kickstarter campaign is close to reaching its initial funding goal, so it’s most likely that the Jyrobike will be available for kids aged 3 to 9 later this year. If successful, plans for an adult version could come into play in 2015!
