If you’re not already a knitter, we think this awesome Hazel the Humpback whale project is reason enough to learn. Artist Bec Brittain dreamed up this 26-inch plush whale pattern and she’s offering it free on her web site. You can even scale the pattern to make the whale bigger if you like. Of course, we recommend using organic wool for this project, and you could stuff the finished whale with old baby onesies, tees, or other soft extras you have around the house. We think any toddler would love toting a big marine mammal like this around, and you may even inspire a love for the ocean!
