Break out all your Beatles records on vinyl and get ready for a trip back in time, courtesy of LEGO. The company just announced the November 1st release date for the Yellow Submarine set, inspired by the 1968 Beatles movie and initially created by a musician, songwriter, and LEGO Ideas contributor (with a nod to the 10,000 plus supporters who helped bring the design to life). The 550-piece set may not include┬áthe most cutting-edge LEGO features, but the $59.99 the Yellow Submarine will set you back is worth the journey down musical memory lane and the seamless introduction of Beatle-mania to your kiddos. The set comes with minifigures of each of the world’s favorite moptops — and check out the on-point facial hair and teeth! It also comes with a minifigure of Jeremy Hillary Boob, who you will probably have to Google to get the significance unless you were a big fan of the film. The top of the Yellow Submarine comes off to reveal a place where the Beatles can fit for their groovy underwater trip. While we understand that many of these sets will be purchased and displayed by Beatles fans of a certain age, young music lovers will also get a kick out of putting together this cheery and retro set all the while singing “We all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine.” And no, we can’t get it out of our heads now either. Awesome.
