PARA’KITO mosquito-repellent bands are a simple, practical and easy-to-wear way to keep those painful pests away this summer—naturally. The neoprene bands can be worn on the wrist or ankle and hold a pellet of natural mosquito repellent that lasts up to 15 days. Better still, they are waterproof! Read on for how you can help protect your family from irritating bites all summer long and make the most of the great outdoors.

The PARA’KITO system works thanks to a blend of natural, insect-repelling essential oils: citronella, rosemary, geranium, mint, clove, peppermint and cinnamon. These are formed into a solid pellet, which slips into a mesh pocket on the band. The bands are easy to adjust, and there are two sizes: one for ages 3 to 7, and a larger model that fits ages 8 to adult. There’s also a handy key-ring pellet holder, which can be latched onto a stroller or cot to keep the mosquitoes at bay while remaining out of reach of little fingers, and there’s an all-natural roll-on repellent in the range too.

Each pellet is effective for up to 15 days, even after swimming, summer storms or hot, sticky days. The bands can also be worn all year round, since of course mosquitoes often don’t confine their irksome behavior only to summer. Other great features of PARA’KITO bands are that they are free of DEET, parabens and phthalates, and have been dermatologically tested, not tested on animals!

PARA’KITO bands are available from the PARA’KITO online store. All bands and key rings are $19.50, and come with two insect-repellent pellets included. A packet of two extra pellets costs $13, and there’s free shipping for purchases over $50. As for safety, PARA’KITO caution as follows: “Do not swallow, lick or ingest refill pellets. Wash hands after handling. Keep out of reach of young children when not in use. Do not wear bands or clips loaded with pellets in bed.” All very common sense, really.
