Mother of 5, Kathryn Riley bought Rockin’ Baby Slings in 2011 and wanted to evolve the for-profit company into a “Mother to Mother” business. Kathryn loves the TOMS One For One movement and saw how their impact was beneficial to children all over the world. After Kathryn learned that Haitian women didn’t have the resources or education to wear their babies, and they had a 50% infant mortality rate in certain areas, Kathryn knew she wanted to help. So she began the Mother to Mother program where every Rockin’ Baby sling purchased, a Hero sling would be donated to a Haitian mother.

In July 2011, Kathryn headed to Haiti for the first sling drop off. Kathryn was able to teach the Haitian women how to wear their babies so they can still gather food and water while breastfeeding as needed. The Hero sling donated to the women is a orange ring sling, made out of 100% cotton. Rockin’ Baby just started selling the Hero sling to the public in May for $79.99.
