Trying to decide what baby gear and products to buy? What’s worth it? What really works? Tried and Truth beta, a new site launched in May, aims to help with parent-written product reviews. Founder Lisa O’Connor, also the founder and director of Parents Insight Network, created a site that had reviews written by like-minded parents for items people commonly registered for. The site will eventually gain a unique baby registry feature. “Expecting parents will be able to do their research on Tried And Truth, as well as bookmark other sites, to create a functional baby registry collage that can be shared with friends and Tried And Truth reviewers for feedback,” Says O’Connor. “Gift givers will be able to choose from a variety of retailers to fulfill the expecting family’s registry.”

Tried and Truth allows for members to upload photo’s and video’s of the products to accompany their reviews. I love that the products available for review aren’t just mainstream items. You’ll find parent-written reviews of lots of baby carriers, eco-friendly items, sustainable furniture and more. So what’s the incentive to write a review in the first place? For every review you write, you receive points that can go toward any reward product. Right now you can get new products from Boon, Handsome in Pink eco-friendly clothes, nutrition counseling and more.
