The space beneath what is now a nondescript field at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens was once occupied by a luxurious underground home, and some believe that the subterranean residence still exists. The Underground Home was built 15 feet below the ground at the park as part of the 1964 World’s Fair, and was supposed to be destroyed when the event ended. But because it’s impossible to see what is really beneath the ground and there is no known documentation that the demolition actually took place, the home could very well still be down there.
