Multi-talented Spanish designerJavier Mariscal recently unveiled a recycled plastic chair that is designed for disassembly, inexpensive to produce, and very stylish indeed. Produced by Mobles 114, the Green Chair is made from recycled polypropylene plastic — which can be recycled again at the end of its useful life. The Green Chair is long-lasting, affordable, responsibly produced, and it has been certified under the UNE 150301 eco design standard – these qualities make it perfect for schools, universities, government offices, or chic interior spaces.

Last seen at April’s Milan’s Furniture Fair, the Green Chair consists of three interconnected parts that have been screwed together: a plastic back/seat, four legs, and a set of metal connectors. The chair´s folded morphology was created to increase the material’s strength and provide the user with a comfortable ergonomic seat. The chair is currently available with metal or wooden legs, and the speckled grey seat was designed to dismantle easily for future recycling. Best of all, because the chair is produced as a line of individual parts, customers from around the world could buy just the seat and add the rest of the structure using locally sourced materials.
