Influenced by both prefabricated modern architecture and vehicle design, the Modern Recreational Vehicle, or MRV-1, can be towed to remote locations in nature. Jeffrey Eyster of A+E Architecture was drawn to the idea of creating a nature retreat that would blur the boundaries between permanent prefab homes and ephemeral camping structures, and he envisioned a structure that would have modern comforts without any of the symbols of camping. The sustainable studio provides sleeping for two, heating and air conditioning, a composting toilet, a shower, and a small kitchen. Eyster is currently raising funds at USA Projects in order to build and test a prototype.
