Designed by Louis Lim, a Cooper Union [1] graduate, the bench was created as part of the 12 x 12 exhibit during New York Design Week [2]. Like all of the other pieces comprising the 12 x 12 project [3], the bench is made entirely from salvaged wood from NYC locations, in this case, heart pine beams. Another brilliant detail about the round design is that it is a flat pack construction, and the main shell separates into 6 modular panels for easy transportation and assemblage.
