You might remember the public outcry that resulted this past spring when New York’s Museum of Modern Art announced that it would be demolishing its American Folk Art Museum building, and those plans unfortunately have not changed since then. MoMA released a statement this week confirming that the razing of Tod Williams and Billie Tsien Architect’s critically acclaimed building, which is only 12-years-old, is still going to happen. The cleared space will make way for a redesign and expansion of the larger museum led by architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro.
