Inspired by the Heracleum plant (aka Cow Parsnip), Moooi’s new chandelier branches out from a central core, and each stem ends in a set of shining LED “leaves.” The lamp’s structure is coated with conductive layers that allow it to carry a low-voltage (safe to touch) current to the LED leaves, eliminating the need for wires. Heracleum II comes in two different sizes and it makes a great new addition to MOOOI’s family of products.
MOOOI was founded back in 2001 by Casper Vissers and renowned Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. Its name comes from the Dutch word “beautiful”, with an extra “O” added for an “extra value in terms of beauty and uniqueness”. MOOOI unveiled several brilliant luminaries at this year’s ICFF, and Heracleum II caught our eye for its innovative technology and its organic forms.
