The wonderful mushroom is more than just tasty—the fleshy fungus can even be transformed into a 100% biodegradable vegetal leather. Italy-based textile manufacturer GradoZero Espace has been turning mushroom caps into Muskin, a vegan leather that they claim is even softer than suede and is breathable and pliable. The versatile material has been used to make a variety of household items such as purses, watchstraps, shoe insoles, and even hats.
