The Spur will be covered in a greenery-covered walkway stretching along 30th Street between 11th and 10th avenues. The passageway that runs under an office building south of Hudson Yards development will have concession space and balconies overlooking the street below as it leads into the Threshold, a tree-lined path that will open up to the large piazza.

The design for the piazza would make it the largest open space on the High Line. Originally, the area was going to see a large bowl-shaped garden, but that idea was scrapped to provide sufficient space for the High Line’s changing art program and events throughout the year.

According to DNAinfo, the city’s Design Commission approved the Parks Department’s latest High Line plan last week and construction on the Spur is slated to begin later this year.
