Rejoice vegan food connoisseurs! Dairy-free delicacy maker Dr. Cow Tree Nut Cheese recently opened its first New York store in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The shop offers up creamy, animal-free cheeses as well as organic granola, mini vegan cheesecakes, yummy chocolate truffles and a roster of other cruelty-free pastries. The storefront may be tiny and take-out only (for now), but it’s chock-full of enticing treats.

After cultivating a thriving online market for their hand-made tree nut cheeses, Dr. Cow decided to make their raw artisan foods available at a walk-in shop. The small Williamsburg-based company first made a name for itself in the raw food community, but its popularity quickly spread to vegans and other health-conscious eaters.

In their new Brooklyn digs, Dr. Cow makes a variety of gluten-, soy-, dairy- and animal-free foods like tree nut cheese, granolas, activated nuts, cookies, biscotti and other confections. All of the ingredients are not only kosher and vegan but also 100% certified organic and unprocessed.

The nut cheeses are lovingly made from 100% raw, organic nuts and seeds which are hand picked, and put through a process similar to the way dairy cheese is made. The many varieties can be spread, cut or eaten just other cheeses.
