Airbnb is known for spreading good vibes and togetherness through its home-sharing site, and some of its hosts are taking that spirit to the next level by giving back to their communities. Case in point: This generous couple in Williamsburg is not only offering a spacious room in their gorgeous apartment, but is also donating money from each booking to charity. Now, that’s what we call hipster living at its most altruistic!

For every booking Rob and Pilar get through the rental site, they have pledged to donate 5% of the fee to the Youth Service Opportunities Project. The organization, which was started in 1983, encourages young people to actively engage in volunteer work around New York City and Washington, DC.

Along with renting for a good cause, anyone looking for a great stay in one of New York’s trendiest neighborhoods won’t be disappointed. Rob and Pilar’s room for rent is located in a penthouse duplex that comes with an outdoor terrace and grill. And if that doesn’t convince you, the rental room comes with a private bath with jacuzzi too.

Although this is the first we’re hearing of individual hosts being so financially charitable, this is not the first time that Airbnb has worked to help someone in need. Right after Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on the city, the apartment sharing platform worked with Mayor Bloomberg to offer free housing to the homeless victims of the storm.
