Yesterday, Trump signed executive orders revitalizing the Keystone and Dakota Access Pipelines. Hundreds of New Yorkers braved the rain and gathered at Trump Hotel to let the President know just how they felt about it. Protestors held signs proclaiming things like “DAPL is American Carnage,” a reference to the President’s inaugural speech, and Native American leaders, celebrities and activists made their voices heard.

Gasland director Josh Fox and activist and actor Jane Fonda gave a speech during the rally in Columbus Circle, which has been barricaded off after the protest. Attendees chanted “City by city, block by block we stand with Standing Rock.”

Both Keystone and the Dakota Access Pipeline had been stalled under Obama. Trump reinstated the pipelines, saying he wanted to “get that pipeline built.”
