All aboard! Brightly-colored miniature Metro-North trains have been departing from a tiny Grand Central Station and bringing joy to both young and old alike as part of the MTA Transit Museum’s annual train show. The delightful display is currently open at the New York Transit Museum Gallery Annex & Store at Grand Central Terminal. If you can’t make it in person, read on for a fun video simulating a ride on one of these tiny trains.

The main train circling around the exhibit is a Lionel Grand Central Express Passenger Set, which is also on sale at the Museum Store. The two-level, 34-foot-long New York City and countryside scene the set travels through was built as part of Grand Central Terminal’s 100th anniversary celebration. The Train Show, featuring vintage trains, miniature models of NYC buildings and posters from the 1920s through the ‘40s, will be up through February 10, 2013.
