Whether you’re into hard-core sports or prefer a relaxing picnic, there’s nothing like finally getting to enjoy the outdoors after a long, hard winter. But with all of the skyscrapers and congested streets that surround us, you may not know where to start or what to do. Luckily, there’s city-wide event going on right now called OutdoorFest, and it’s inviting New Yorkers to participate in over 70 FREE and exciting events in all five boroughs of NYC. So what are you waiting for? Join in on the outdoor fun today!
OutdoorFest is an organization created to bring together all outdoor enthusiasts in NYC to form a community where people can meet others with similar hobbies, and share their passion for adventures and nature. The group holds monthly meetings called “Mappy Hours” that allow people in NYC to come together and share their stories. Better yet, the entrance fee is just beer and an old guidebook!
This summer, OutdoorFest is holding a 10-day outdoor festival with over 70 free events for all adventure-loving urbanites to participate in. These events include all kinds of outdoor activities such as camping, kayaking, surfing, climbing, slacklining, cycling, hiking, and rowing—and that’s not even half the list! The festival also offers educational clinics, social events, and many volunteer opportunities for any participants who prefer to be a bit less active. Check out the Outdoorfest website for a schedule of all the events!
