If you're a feline fanatic who never really fit in at space camp or band camp, you may finally be in luck. After the success of its pop-up NYC Cat Cafe last year, Purina ONE has launched its first-ever Cat Camp in Soho. The unique (and thankfully air-conditioned) space will be open to the public today and tomorrow and features a full kitty playground, a kibble campfire, and a crew of adoptable furry friends to play with--and hopefully take home with you at the end of the day. Read on for all of the purrrrtinent information, and check out our pics and video of the space below.
“Purina ONE’s Cat Camp is a fun way for cat lovers to experience all the things that feed into whole body health for cats,” said Brian Williams, Brand Manager for Purina ONE. “We had such a great response to last year’s Cat Café, so this year we wanted to provide activities that would help educate people on whole body health, and there isn’t a better way to do that this summer than a camp-like experience.”
The playful, camp-themed space inside the Openhouse Gallery at 201 Mulberry Street in Soho boasts a traverse climbing wall, a stretching tent, a play pond, a make-your-own puzzle feeder station, and even a campfire made out of kibble. Purina ONE’s Cat Camp counselors (including veterinarian Deborah S. Greco and feline behaviorist Sandra Lyn, PhD) will also be on the scene teaching visitors about what makes up a healthy cat’s daily activities. Cat Campers will also have the opportunity to bond with shelter cats from Petfinder.com, who will be available for on-site adoption. Then you can put all of the things you learnd during camp to good use taking care of your new kitty!
Purina ONE’s Cat Camp will be open from July 31-August 1 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
