With the holidays just around the corner, it’s time to start searching for gifts to give this season. And not just any gifts, but meaningful and unique items that are sure to be cherished by your loved ones. Thankfully, WantedDesign is making it extra easy by hosting two holiday events that will bring together a selection of goods from talented local designers under one roof. Read on for the details.

Chelsea Market 5 - Colin Miller

Design Pop-up at Chelsea Market (75 9th Ave, December 2-4, 9am to 9pm) will feature some of the best-selling items from the team’s permanent store in Brooklyn’s Industry City. Products from vendors such as Juniper, Brooklyn Candle Studio, Knot & Bow, and Jewelry by ByBoe will be available alongside labels like Alessi, Opinel, Menu, Poketo, and Areaware. Shoppers are sure to find the perfect gift for the design-obsessed on their list. Chelsea Market is already a popular draw for both New Yorkers and out-of-owners and this weekend pop-up will fit right in with the permanent roster of shops and foodie stalls.

If you need more time to tackle your holiday shopping and want to get away from the bustle of Manhattan, WantedDesign is also opening a holiday market at Industry City (241 37th St) the following weekend. From December 9-11, the team will host 110 brands, makers, and design labels selling beautiful wares for the home including lighting, small furniture and textiles. This event will feature a mix of more than 40 local Industry City tenants, designers, and makers along with 50 international and US brands. The IC Store By WantedDesign will be a special section within the market with more than 30 new brands selected by the team.

Dizzy from all that talent? Then take a breather from the browsing during Friday night’s party in the Kikkerland log pillow forest installation (5pm to 8pm). Mingle with other shoppers while sipping on wine or join in on a mess-free snowball fight in the slow motion booth. (Be sure to RSVP before December 5th to be a part of the festivities.) Throughout the weekend, kids can play with an interactive magnetic coloring wall by Visual Magnetics and watch movies during screening sessions by Sony Life Space UX while parents interact with makers and learn more about their craft. Give your legs a rest in the cozy lounge by Design Within Reach or grab a midday snack from onsite food vendors. And while you’re shopping for others, it can’t hurt to get a little something for yourself, too: visitors can enter for a chance to win a tokyobike’s Bisou bike.

Holiday Market at Industry City will be open December 9 from 12pm to 5pm and December 10-11 from 11am to 6pm.
