Even though we love 3D-printed designs, there's something about the timeless charm of hand crafted woodwork that you just can't beat. It's something that multi-disciplinary design studio Think Fabricate knows a lot about, and it shows in their playful and modern wooden designs that they'll be bringing to this year's BKLYN Designs furniture show. Keep reading to get a glimpse of these eco-friendly and funky twists on classic furniture staples.
Co-founded by Susan Doban and Jason Gorsline, Brooklyn-based Think Fabricate offers playful furniture collections that blend masterful craftsmanship with sustainable values. In addition to the traditional palette of walnut and teak, the design firm also produces their wares in bamboo plywood and recycled marble. The collection spans all shapes and sizes, from hanging flared lanterns to large round corner cabinets.
Each handcrafted piece can be customized to the client’s specifications. To celebrate the material, Think Fabricate not only keeps the grain and natural colors of the wood exposed, but also adds a splash of color or nature-inspired motifs for a touch of whimsy. To see more of Think Fabricate’s functional and stylish wooden furnishings, be sure to check out their booth at BKLYN Designs 2014 in just a few weeks.
