The mass destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy was unprecedented for many New Yorkers, but serious floods are nothing new for cities like Copenhagen. In order to open up a dialogue about important lessons we can learn from Copenhagen’s experience, the Consulate General of Denmark and AIA New York will be hosting “Cities by Water”, a keynote conversation between architect Bjarke Ingels and the City Architect of Copenhagen, Tina Saaby, with a panel discussion including Henk Ovink, Senior Advisor of the HUD/Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force and Roland Lewis from the Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance. The event will take place tonight from 6-8pm at the Center for Architecture in New York (536 LaGuardia Place NY, NY 10012). Click here for more information and to register.
