A public forum held tonight will be your last chance to weigh in on the East Side Coastal Resiliency Project plan to create a flood barrier along the East River. The meeting will be held at the Grand Street Settlement at 80 Pitt St. starting at 6PM. The federal government is funding this project with a $335 million allotment to build a levee and flood wall system spanning from East 23rd Street to Montgomery Street and the city has also asked for an additional $500 million in order to extend the project further below Montgomery Street, to the Battery. Interested residents can check out a PDF of the project plan before heading down to the public meeting tonight to give feedback before the project moves on to the next phase.
