Roderick spotted the outdoor living room as he paddled around the edge of the island. With his curiosity piqued, he moved in for a closer look and discovered someone had set up an old television and a chair atop a stone platform on the rocky shore.

Is it an art installation? Is someone actually watching TV here (probably not)? Is it related to the piano that strangely showed up in the East River last month? We’re not exactly sure, but given the island’s odd history of being formerly inhabited in the 1950s as well as being the site of a controversial experimental drug treatment program, the bizarre room may actually be one of North Brother Island’s less interesting mysteries.
