If you’ve been shaking your fist at Old Man Winter these past few weeks, here’s a chance to experience all of that snow from Hercules and Janus in a whole new light. On January 25th, Central Park will be transformed into a winter playground complete with skiing, sledding, and a Doggie Bowl play area just for pets! The annual Winter Jam event will be free and open to all from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To supplement the snow that’s already blanketed Central Park, trucks have been shipping in more of the wintery powder from Gore Mountain. Guests will be able to rent free equipment for activities including cross-country skiing, regular skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and sledding. From some slightly less slippery activities, visitors can watch the Iams Doggie Bowl, try out eats at the Taste NY Winter Market, or stretch out in Pure Barre classes.

Presented by NYC Parks, Lake Placid and I Love NY, Winter Jam NYC is a free winter sports festival open to all ages. Winter fun seekers will want to enter Central Park at 72nd Street and reach the Bandshell area located on the east side of the Mall.
