Last year, we were blown away by student Léo Marius’ OpenReflex, the world’s first DIY 3D printed SLR. The fully functional and open source camera is not only easy to assemble, but it’s also incredibly affordable at just $30 a pop. While Marius put the instructions online for free for all to use, he’s now returned to the drawing board with a crowdfunding campaign to improve the design of his open source camera to make it even easier to build and use. Marius promises that the project will stay open source and hopes the campaign will help facilitate the growth of a makers community around the OpenReflex design.
