Metrino is a futuristic transportation system designed for Dubai that ferries passengers throughout the city in high-tech pods. Each pod – housed under an elegant petal-like station – holds four passengers and can provide everything from views of Dubai’s beautiful scenery to efficient transport between the coast, parking areas and shopping destinations.

Designed by Brazilian architecture firm Fernandes Arquitetos Associados, Metrino would connect thousands of people across an area over 6 miles in radius, providing easy access to Dubai’s waterfront, subway, parking lots and Dubai Mall. Transparent and interactive, the pods would accommodate up to 4 passengers and transport them through a system of light guide beams.

Each pod has an interactive control panel that concentrates all the functions, destination, system map, information about the city and its sights, music, alerts and advertising. The beam system, supported at every 82 feet, lead to beautifully designed stations and distribution points sheltered under petal-shaped canopies.
