To go with their micro Nido EV designed last year, automotive design house Pininfarina has created a beautiful EV charging tree called the Antares. The company revealed the new design at the recent MoTechEco sustainably mobility show in Rome. The 108 square-foot modular car charger contains 20 solar panels, capable of producing 4.6 kilowatts, which will recharge two electric cars for a range of about 50 miles each.
Pininfarina is exploring ways to reduce emissions through the use of recyclable, lighter, and alternative materials. The Nido, also part of this sustainable mobility initiative, is comprised of a carbon fiber body on a modular aluminum frame that can be scaled up for larger vehicles.
